Three On Tap For Boys Volleyball, Including No. 5 LaSalle

Posted on: April 23, 2017

SETTING THE SCENE:  Milford won three of five contests last week, including a 3-1 upset over #9 Princeton.  The Eagles will be tested in the week ahead, as they travel to LaSalle for a date with the #5 ranked Lancers.

A LOOK BACK:  Milford opened the week Monday with a 3-1 win at Walnut Hills High School, a new volleyball program in 2017.  The Eagles won the first set 26-19, but Walnut Hills fought back to take set two, 25-23.  Milford took the match with wins of 25-18 and 25-16 in sets three and four.

The Eagles next hosted Princeton High School, ranked #5 last week in the area coaches’ poll.  Princeton won the first set of Wednesday’s matches 25-20, but Milford rallied to sweep the following three sets (25-20, 25-20, 27-25) for a 3-1 win.

Milford took a four-game win streak into Thursday’s rematch with rival Loveland.  Thought the Eagles won the first meeting of the two teams earlier in the season, the Tigers evened the score and the series with a 3-1 victory.  Following a 25-22 Milford win in set one, Loveland followed with wins of 25-22, 25-23, and 25-21.

Saturday found the Eagles in Mason for a tri-match along with Monroe. Milford fell in the first match with Mason, 25-16 and 25-18.  The squad fared better with Monroe, winning in two sets 25-13, and 25-17.
