Posted on: August 21, 2021

Long-time and highly successful head coach Tom Grippa, now in his fifth season leading the Milford football program, reached a coaching milestone on Friday night as he earned the 200th victory of his career. Grippa, a 30-year veteran of Cincinnati-area high school sidelines, achieved the feat with the Eagles’ 41-14 win over Edgewood.

According to the OHSAA Record Book, Grippa is the 64th coach to reach the 200-victory plateau in their career. He has also enjoyed head coaching stints at Elder, Fairfield and LaSalle High Schools and has a record of 200-116. At Milford, Grippa is 23-15 and has led the Eagles to three OHSAA Playoff appearances, including the first playoff win in school history in 2017. Milford also captured a share of the ECC Championship that season.

“We are so proud to have a legend like Coach Grippa leading our program,” Director of Athletics Aaron Zupka stated. “He has led our program to unprecedented heights during his time in Milford and we couldn’t be more excited to have him earn this milestone while leading our Eagles.”
