Track and Field Regional Results: Armstrong Headed to State

Posted on: May 25, 2019

Andrea Armstrong’s season will continue at the 2019 OHSAA State Track and Field Championships, as the senior qualified to advance in two of her three events from the OHSAA Division I Regionals.

Armstrong captured a fourth place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 57.78, a virtual tie with the third place finisher separated by just .001.  She also secured an invitation in the 200 meter dash; though she finished sixth overall in the Regional finals, her time of 25.27 qualified for State through an at-large bid from all Ohio Regional competitions.  In her third event, Armstrong placed twelfth with a jump of 14-10.25 in her third attempt.

Emmy Sager finished the 3200 meter run in 11.11.98, good for seventh place.  The freshman’s impressive season included setting a new school record of 11:08.44 in the event at last week’s District Championship.

The OHSAA State Meet will be held at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at the Ohio State University in Columbus.  Look for more information later this week.
