GAME REWIND

Milford dominated the rebounding battle and held Harrison to just 28 percent shooting for the game as the Eagles picked up their first win of the season, 52-34. The visiting Wildcats took their only lead of the game early at 3-2, before the Eagles went in front to stay. By the end of the night, Milford held a 40-17 edge on the glass, with the Eagles turning 18 offensive rebounds into 13 second chance points. The home team was also sharp offensively, shooting 45 percent from the floor and making four three-pointers.

GAME REWIND

Kings’ Jack Hussey made the game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer, sending the Eagles to a heartbreaking 53-51 defeat in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference opener for both teams. Playing behind from the opening seconds of the game, the Eagles entered the fourth quarter down by seven and nearly pulled off the comeback. Caleb Farrell collected a loose ball and laid it in with eight seconds remaining to give the Eagles a 51-50 lead. But Hussey saved his best for last, hitting his only field goal of the night to send to the home crowd into a frenzy.

POLL WATCH: The Eagles didn’t receive any votes in this week’s Cincinnati Enquirer Division I area coaches’ poll. Moeller is again the top-ranked squad with 15 of 16 first place votes cast. Mason, Lakota East (one vote), Oak Hills and Princeton complete the top-five. The top ECC squad is West Clermont in a tie for sixth, with Loveland, Turpin, Walnut Hills and Withrow all receiving votes.
