Two with Loveland Ahead for MHS Girls Bowling

SETTING THE SCENE:  The Lady Eagles are off to an impressive start, 3-0 overall and atop the Eastern Cincinnati Conference standings at 2-0 with Turpin and West Clermont.  With wins over Anderson and a fifth place finish at the Big Blue Challenge, Milford will meet Loveland in the week ahead, and again compete at the Western Bowl’s Holiday Classic.

 

A LOOK BACK:  The Lady Eagles recorded their first conference win of the season, a 2129-2035 win over Anderson.   A 213 in game one, and two game average of 190 by Jessica Haines led Milford.  Megan Cannon joined with a 306 series, followed by Jessica Norman (289) and MacKenzie Mason (284).

Haines once again was the top Eagle as Milford swept Anderson in the final game of the series, 2138-1920.  Haines rolled a 375 series, and Mason added a 332 series.  Other Eagles with two games in the win included Reaghan Kaylor (287), Cannon (267) and Norman (261).

The Milford girls bowling team ended the week with a 5th place finish at the Big Blue Challenge hosted by Hamilton High School. Mason earned first team All-Tournament with a three game total of 551 pins.  With a 216, Haines had the high game for Milford; she also had a three game series of 521 joined by Cannon (466), Norman (459).  Kaylor added a two game series of 276, while Reagan Hodges contributed in game three with a 138.

 

A LOOK AHEAD:  Loveland awaits Milford in the week ahead, as the Lady Eagles look to remain undefeated in the ECC.  Loveland opened the season at 0-2 after losses to Turpin.  The Eagles will compete at another weekend tournament, this time the Holiday Classic at Western Bowl.

INSIDE THE ECC:  At 2-0, Milford sits atop the ECC tied with Turpin and West Clermont.  Walnut Hills, Anderson and Loveland are all 0-2, while Kings has not yet faced a conference opponent.  The Eagles lead the league in team average (773.1) followed by West Clermont (742.4).  Individual leaders within the top ten include:

Megan Cannon:  series high (7th – 353)

Jessica Haines: overall average (2nd - 175.1); high game (2nd - 216); series high (2nd – 381)

MacKenzie Mason:  overall average (5th - 166.6); high game (6th - 199); series high (9th – 332)

Jessica Norman:  high game (10th – 181)

  

POLL WATCH: Week three finds Milford at seventh, tied with Colerain in the Division I Cincinnati Enquirer area coaches’ poll.  Fairfield, Seton, Mercy, Northwest and Oak Hills make up the top five, and the ECC’s West Clermont is ranked tenth this week.
