Unbeaten Boys Soccer Back At Home With Two Home Matches This Week

SETTING THE SCENE: Entering the week with a record of 4-0-2, the Milford High School boys soccer team will return to Charity J. Lucas Stadium for a pair of home contests in the days ahead. The Eagles have gotten this season off to a great start in 2018, outscoring opponents by a 19-6 margin. Two quality opponents await Milford this week, kicking off with rival Loveland on Wednesday night. When Saturday rolls around, the Eagles will welcome Madeira for a Noon matinee.

A LOOK BACK: Sept. 6 at West Clermont: Noah Burnett scored a pair of goal as the Eagles stayed unbeaten with a 4-0 win at West Clermont. Junior Joey Round scored his team-best ninth goal of the year, while Noah Burnett tacked on goal number three of the season.

POLL WATCH: In spite of staying unbeaten this fall, the Eagles slipped slightly into eighth place in the Sept. 10 edition of the Cincinnati Enquirer Division I area coaches’ poll. Moeller continues as the heavy favorite, earning 13 of this week’s 19 first place votes. Fellow GCL squad St. Xavier is second with three second place votes, while third place Turpin of the ECC is third, taking the other three top nods. The ECC is also represented by Anderson in fourth and Loveland in sixth, with Mason completing the top-five. The league also has Walnut Hills and Kings among others receiving votes. The coaches’ poll is released every Monday at Noon at preps.cincinnati.com/coachespolls.
