Volleyball Team Honored By District 16 Coaches

On the heels of its highly successful 2019 season, the Milford High School girls volleyball team, along with seniors Angela Kapitula and Abby Thierauf were recently honored for their success by the District 16 coaches. Kapitula was named second team all-district, while Thierauf participated in the district’s Senior Showcase and was honored for her academic prowess. Finally, the Eagles received an academic award for team GPA.

 

In earning first team All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference accolades, Kapitula ranked third among all conference players with 253 kills (a 3.30 per set average), while adding 2.25 digs per game. She finished her senior campaign with 11 double-doubles, including a high of 20 kills against West Clermont and 19 digs vs. Kings.

 

Thierauf was one of the area’s top senior players and students. On the court, she was named second team All-ECC after finishing seventh in the league with 405 assists (4.55 per set) and 24 blocks. Away from athletics, she was recognized for a holding a weighted 4.664 GPA.

 

The Eagles also picked up a team academic award for outstanding academic achievements while participating in interscholastic volleyball. The squad holds a 3.711 team GPA.
