Week Of February 10 ECC Athletes Of The Week

Each week throughout the school year, we’ll feature the student athletes nominated by their coaches as Eastern Cincinnati Conference Athletes of the Week. Congratulations to each award recipient!

Joey Cutting and Angel Dominguez
Milford - Seniors
Wrestling

Coming off a fifth-pace finish at the Milford Invitational, Joey (a senior) recorded a 10-second fall against Beavercreek in the opening round of the OHSAA Regional Dual Tournament. Joey has a 7-4 record on the season with six falls and a 3.2 GPA. Joey would like to enter the Navy after high school. With girls' wrestling on the rise, Lakota West invited our lady wrestlers over for a dual before their match with Little Miami. Angel came away with an 11-8 victory over the sixth-ranked 131 lbs. wrestler in Ohio, ranked by American Women Wrestling. Angel has a 5-8 varsity record with three falls and an 8-3 record on the JV with six falls ... AND a 4.0 GPA! Angel will enter Northern Kentucky’s Entrepreneurial program next year.

Joey Round

Basketball

Joey helped the Eagles to a second win this season over rival Loveland with an outstanding all-around performance. In the win, Joey scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out five assists, added one block, and a pair of steals. In a close loss to Taft earlier in the week, Joey scored 12 points and had three assists.

Shelby Sullivan and Fallon Austin

Bowling

Shelby, a freshman, bested her season high on Monday with games of 144 and 180 for a 324 series. Fallon, a junior, rolled consistently last week with a 317 series (139 and 178) on Monday and a 318 series (159 and 159) on Tuesday.

Franklin Abt and A.J. Kaylor

Bowling

Franklin, a junior, has been on a tear as the season is closing. He rolled a 428 series (237 and 191) on Monday and a 412 series (198 and 214) on Tuesday. A.J., also a junior, bowled games of 213 and 216 for a 429 series on Monday and games of 179 and 216 for a 395 series on Tuesday.

The girls turned in another amazing performance at the UCA Nationals, finishing first in Game Day Division and third in Traditional Routine!
