Week Of February 3 ECC Athletes Of The Week

Each week throughout the school year, we’ll feature the student athletes nominated by their coaches as Eastern Cincinnati Conference Athletes of the Week. Congratulations to each award recipient!

Franklin Abt
Milford - Junior
Bowling

Franklin bowled great matches against Walnut Hills on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday, he bowled a 424 series (216 and 208). He topped that on Wednesday with a 490 series (246 and 244), a season and career best. He recorded a 914 pin total for the week.

Katie Bell and Shelby Sullivan
Milford - Freshman
Bowling

Katie, a junior, bowled a 332 series (184 and 148) in a match against Walnut Hills on Tuesday. The following day, again against Walnut Hills, Shelby, a freshman, rolled a season-high 302 series (181 and 121).

Sophie Cooper
Milford - Junior
Diving

Sophie placed first at the West Clermont Invitational on Wednesday at Miami University and Saturday at West Clermont.

Madalyn Hills
Milford - Sophomore
Basketball

Madalyn scored 28 points and recorded four steals in two games last week. In a close game against Little Miami, she made six three-pointers for the second time this season.

Connor Hawkins and Ray Clayton
Milford - Junior
Wrestling

Milford hosted the Ed Morris Milford Wrestling Invitational finishing sixth as a team with nine placers - seven who stepped on the podium for the first time at the MIT. Congratulations Connor Hawkins, a junior at 170 lbs., who placed third for his first trip to the podium! Joining Connor on the podium for third place was Ray Clayton, a junior at 138 lbs. This was Ray’s third time placing at the MIT. Ray currently stands at 15-12 with eight falls. Connor has eight wins with seven by fall. Both of these wrestlers are great student-athletes, maintaining a GPA in the High Honors! Congratulations Connor and Ray.
