Week Of May 17 ECC Athletes Of The Week
Each week throughout the school year, we’ll feature the student athletes nominated by their coaches as Eastern Cincinnati Conference Athletes of the Week. Congratulations to each award recipient!
Ayla Grabenbauer
Milford - Junior
Track
This past week at the ECC Championships, Ayla did something that was so selfless and impressive that she deserves to be recognized. Ayla completed the "Distance Quadruple." She ran the 4x800 meter relay, the 1600 meter run, the 800 meter run, and then the 3200 meter run... and almost scored in each of them. She did this all to score points for the team as we were trying to finish second for the first time in decades. She went out and competed hard in each of those events making myself, the rest of the coaching staff, and her teammates so very proud of her! That takes a special athlete and a special person! Way to go Ayla, thank you!
Landon Forrest
Milford - Junior
Track
Landon came out for track for the first time this year and has done nothing but improve all year long! Each week, Landon takes a step forward and this week was nothing different. At the most important meet of the year, Landon threw a PR in the shot put, nearly three feet further than his previous best. In doing so, he also ended up placing eighth in the event. What a way to come through at the end Landon, great job!
Chase Herrell
Milford - Sophomore
Baseball
Chase led the Eagles to wins over Anderson and Colerain, picking up both wins on the mound. During the week, Chase also recorded five hits, a double, three runs scored, and five RBIs.
Olivia Craycraft
Milford - Senior
Softball
Olivia has been the epitome of a student-athlete during her outstanding career. In three seasons, Olivia hit over .450, collected 21 doubles, eight triples, and two home runs while driving in 61 runs. Amazingly, she was 45-of-46 on stolen base attempts. While also being a strong team leader, Olivia will graduate this week as the Class of 2021 Valedictorian, holding a weighted GPA of 5.3. Congratulations Olivia for representing Milford with such class during your career!
Brooke Fender
Milford - Senior
Lacrosse
Brooke helped her team secure its third conference win of the season by putting up solid defense against this week's opponents Little Miami and Cincinnati Country Day. Her stellar defense led to four CTs against CCD's tough offense. Congratulations Brooke for solid defensive play not only this week, but throughout the entire season.
