Week Of October 12 ECC Athletes Of The Week

Posted on: October 14, 2020

Each week throughout the school year, we’ll feature the student athletes nominated by their coaches as Eastern Cincinnati Conference Athletes of the Week. Congratulations to each award recipient!

Maggie Braun
Milford - Sophomore
Cross Country
Maggie has been battling injury for the past few weeks but was able to bounce back at the Ross Invitational and claim a varsity spot for the ECC Championship next Saturday.

Jill Stokes
Milford - Senior
Volleyball
Jill, a senior middle hitter, had great contributions this past week with 17 kills and eight blocks in three hard-fought conference matches. She was an absolute wall at the net all week! Great job, Jill!

Tahj Price
Milford - Junior
Football
Tahj recorded eight tackles on defense, helping to keep the high-powered Colerain offense 50 yards under its total offense per game average. He really made an impact on special teams, returning three kickoffs for 111 yards. Tahj's 72-yard return in the fourth quarter was the longest by a Milford player since 2015.

Jacob Wagner
Milford - Freshman
Cross Country
Jacob, running in his first race back after injury, ran a personal-best time of 18:48.71 to capture second place in the open race at the Ross Invitational.

Collin Kittrell
Milford - Junior
Soccer
Collin is the leader in the back as the Milford defense shutout Little Miami in a 5-0 victory and then shut down RJ Linenkugel of Oak Hills in a 3-1 victory.

Caitlin Evans
Milford - Freshman
Soccer
Caitlin has been a solid defender for us each game. She is our go-to player when we need to manmark or watch for a fast forward. Caitlin's help defense is off the charts as she has recovered from touchline to touchline when needed. Her determination to get better as a player, coupled with her talent, is going to lead to much success in the future for her!

Cole Watson
Milford - Senior
Golf
Cole's high school career came to a bittersweet end as he narrowly missed qualifying for the OHSAA District Tournament. Cole nearly made it two Eagles to qualify when he ended the day as part of a four-way tie for the final individual qualifying position. But on the playoff hole, another competitor scored a birdie, while Cole, along with two other players, scored par.

Annika Hansen & Ariana Carranza
Milford -
Tennis
Annika and Ariana were paired together late in the season and were part of one of the best tennis seasons at Milford in several years. By season's end, the sophomore duo won a pair of regular season matches together at second doubles, before moving on to take second place at both the ECC Tournament and the GCTCA Coaches Classic. The future is bright for this dynamic duo!
