Week Of September 28 ECC Athletes Of The Week

Each week throughout the school year, we’ll feature the student athletes nominated by their coaches as Eastern Cincinnati Conference Athletes of the Week. Congratulations to each award recipient!

Chase Duesing
Milford - Junior
Football
Chase Duesing had the game of his life in the Eagles’ 55-26 victory over Little Miami. For the game, Chase caught five passes for 160 yards and a pair of touchdowns, both for over 40 yards. He entered the game with three catches for 44 yards this season and had 163 yards receiving all of last season.

Jake Sherwood
Milford – Senior
Cross Country
Jake Sherwood had a fine performance at the Princeton Invitational, placing 10th overall in a field of over 90 runners in a time of 17:27.77. Jake was one of two Milford runners to place in the top-10, helping the Eagles finish third in the team standings.

Jessica Shay
Milford – Junior
Golf
Coming off an injury, Jessica Shay has been a steady presence in Milford’s line-up all season long. She currently sits 10th in the ECC in scoring average at 42.8 and has been one of the team’s four counted scores each week all season long.

Adam Horn
Milford – Junior
Golf
Adam Horn continued to add to his decorated career when he became the first Milford player to win the ECC Tournament Championship since 2018. For the event, Adam shot a round of 71 to win the tournament by two shots. He currently leads the ECC in scoring at 36.9. Coincidentally, prior to Adam’s title, the last Eagle to win the ECC crown was his older brother, Justin.

Kira Pietila
Milford – Sophomore
Tennis
Kira Pietila had a big week for the Eagles, earning second place finishes at third singles during both the ECC Tournament and the GCTCA Coaches Classic. For the year, Kira is 6-1 overall and 2-1 in ECC play at No. 3 singles and has been part of the winning team in all four of her doubles matches.

Jacob Haskins
Milford - Senior
Soccer
Jacob, a captain and four year starter, was one of several who helped Milford dominate Lebanon in the middle of the field Thursday night. Additionally, he scored a beautiful goal from outside the box to get the Eagles' scoring started.

Campbell Robinson
Milford - Sophomore
Volleyball
Campbell had 36 kills and 16 blocks in a busy four-match week for Milford. She provided strong net play and consistent offense for the Lasy Eagles, helping them go 3-1 on the week with wins over West Clermont, Walnut Hills, and Lakota West. Great work, Campbell!

Madalyn Blair
Milford - Senior
Soccer
Madalyn has been a consistent force in the back game after game. She is strong, calculated, and dangerous on corners. She is also a defender who makes few mistakes, making her a valuable asset to the team's success.
