For the third straight year, Milford senior Tyler Babinec has claimed a slot in the top-five in the state of Ohio in the 100 breaststroke as he swam to a third place finish on Saturday at the OHSAA State Championships. Babinec touched in a season-best time of 54.34 to match his third place finish earned his sophomore season. Sycamore’s Jake Foster took the title with a mark of 53.76.

 

Babinec also helped the 200 medley relay squad to a win in the B-final and a ninth place finish overall. The foursome of senior Sam Leatherwood, Babinec, freshman Evan Fentress and senior Chase Fisher stopped the clocks in 1:34.00.

 

Fisher also competed in the B-final in the 50 freestyle, finishing 16th overall with a time of 21.55. On Friday, Babinec posted the 20th best time in the 50 free preliminaries with a time of 21.77.
