GAME REWIND
Milford couldn’t hold on to an early 3-0 lead as Fairfield roared back, then held off a late Eagles comeback for a 6-5 win in the Reds Futures Showcase. MHS was saddled by 10 runners left on base in the contest.
The day started off strong for Milford on a two-run double by Sam Boothby in the first. Boothby later picked up RBI number three with a third inning single. Fairfield drew closer with two runs in the fourth, then took the lead with three more in the fifth and a sixth run in the top of inning six.
In the bottom of the sixth, Taylor Stemmerding doubled home Olivia Craycraft and two hitters later, Craycraft raced home on Emily Allphin’s single. But game MVP, Fairfield’s Lindsey Mitchell, retired Boothby and Hillary Huffer to end Milford’s last scoring threat of the game.

GAME REWIND
Freshman Taylor Stemmerding made her first career homerun a big one, as her walk-off solo blast in the bottom of the seventh inning sent Milford to a key 5-4 Eastern Cincinnati Conference win over West Clermont. Milford scored first in the back-and-forth affair, but the Wolves always seemed to have an answer as they took the lead twice and ended up retying the game in the top of the sixth.
Stemmerding’s big fly was part of a big day at the plate for the young centerfielder as she also doubled, scored twice and drove in two. Megan Stulz, making just her second start of the season, also came up large, tallying her first two hits of the season, both singles that scored runs for the Eagles.
