Weeks Of May 26-June 9 ECC Athletes Of The Week

Each week throughout the school year, we’ll feature the student athletes nominated by their coaches as Eastern Cincinnati Conference Athletes of the Week. Congratulations to each award recipient!

Week of May 26
DJ Chadwell
Senior, Milford Track

DJ continued his excellent career at the District Championship Meet, taking second place in the 1600m and qualifying on to Regionals. He is primed for big things this week at Regionals and looks to continue to leave his mark on the all-time records at Milford HS.

Mahima Vasa
Senior, Milford Track

Mahima had an excellent District Championship Meet. She started things off on Wednesday by helping her team to the District title in the 4x800 relay with a dominant second leg of the relay. Then on Friday, she had a great finish in the 800 to finish third and set a new school record in the process.

Week of June 2
Milford Girls 4x800 Relay Team
Milford Track

This past Wednesday at the Regional Meet, the 4x800m relay team of Maren Barnett, Mahima Vasa, Schylar Sperl, and Elle Campbell made school history by qualifying for the State Championship for the first time in the event. Their performance allowed them to finish as Regional runner-up and set a school record in the process.

DJ Chadwell
Senior, Milford Track

DJ capped off his extraordinary career at the Regional Championships this past week. He ran in an extremely competitive 1600m race and raced well. He leaves Milford as the holder of six individual and relay school records and will be running competitively at Mars Hill University in the fall.

Week of June 9
Elle Campbell and Mahima Vasa
Milford Track

Congratulations to these two for finishing up the 2025 track season at the DI State Championship. Elle finishes the season as the 13th best 1600m runner in the state. Along the way, she became the first athlete in the history of Milford to break 5 minutes in the mile and ran under the previous school record a total of five times during the season. Mahima closes out her high school career as the 15th best 800m runner in the state. She was also a league champion and bested the previous school record each of her final three races. Awesome job girls!
