Jim DuPriest new baseball coach

The Milford High School Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that Jim DuPriest, an educator and former Eagles assistant coach, will become the school’s new head baseball coach, pending approval of the Milford Exempted Village School District board. DuPriest takes over a traditionally outstanding program as just the fifth head coach at Milford since 1963.

During his previous tenure on the Milford Baseball staff which lasted from 2001-22, DuPriest was an integral part of the staff under Coach Tom Kilgore. That stretch produced five conference championships, three district titles and saw Milford rank in the top-three in wins in all of Southwest Ohio. DuPriest had responsibility for Eagle outfielders and was the program’s lead hitting coach. Away from on-field instruction, DuPriest was involved with Milford’s strength and conditioning program, youth camps and administrative tasks including field improvement, fundraising and parental communication.

“The standard is the standard, and it's time for Milford Baseball to rise back up to that standard,” stated Milford Director of Athletics Aaron Zupka. “Our program has a long, storied history of success and we are excited to bring back a long-time figure in our program, school, and community in Coach Jim DuPriest! His valuable experience, knowledge, vision for success, and his love and passion for the game and Milford Baseball is truly unmatched. Coach DuPriest will hit the ground running and be an exemplary role model and positive influence for our returning student-athletes and many generations of Eagles to come!”

“I am humbled and honored to be named the next baseball coach for the Milford program,” DuPriest added. “I appreciate the trust from the administration and am excited to start working with the players to help them achieve their goals. I’ve taught and lived in this community for over 25 years, and coached baseball and football here. I know these young men; I know this community; I know what we’re made of. We’ll be ready to compete.”

DuPriest, a graduate of Bowling Green State University and Nova Southeastern Universities, is an English teacher at Milford. In 2021, he was named the OHSBCA Southwest District Assistant Coach of the Year. DuPriest spent the last two seasons as an assistant at Cincinnati Country Day School.
