Boys Lacrosse Hosts Lakota East Wednesday In Regular Season Finale

SETTING THE SCENE: Having won three straight and 11 of its last 13 outings, the Milford High School boys lacrosse team will look to add a final regular season victory to its tally as it returns home to host Lakota East on Wednesday night. Game time is set for 7:15 p.m. The Eagles are 11-4 on the season and finished second in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference standings with a 4-1 slate.

TOURNEY TALK: The OHSAA released the OHSAA Tournament brackets on Sunday, May 6 and the Eagles will open Division I, Region 4 action on Monday, May 14 at home against Sycamore. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Click here for Milford’s regional tournament brackets.

 

A LOOK BACK: May 2 at Kings: Three Eagles scored at least two goals as Milford clinched a second place finish in the final Eastern Cincinnati Conference courtesy of a 9-8 win at Kings. As has become custom throughout this year, Dax Creager had a big game to lead the way as he scored four goals, grabbed 12 groundballs and seized nine draw controls. Cameron Kells added a hat trick, while Sean Lyons banked the other two goals. Gabe Tonucci saved 14 Knights’ shots in net.

 

May 5 at Milford: Milford celebrated Senior Day with a big win, knocking off a tough Wyoming team, 8-7. The Eagles got two goals each from Carson Geier and Michael Waltz, with Cameron Kells scoring one and assisting on two others. Dax Creager scored the final goal, while tallying 10 ground balls and 13 draw controls. Elsewhere, A.J. Teague recorded 10 groundballs and Gabe Tonucci had 13 saves.

POLL WATCH: Milford tied for 10th in the final Cincinnati Enquirer coaches’ poll which encompasses all division. St. Xavier was crowned the poll champion with all 10 first place votes. Moeller, Mariemont, Loveland from the ECC and Mason complete the top-five. Kings from the ECC landed in others receiving votes. COLLEGE BOUND EAGLES: A trio of seniors on the 2018 Eagles’ roster have announced their intention to continue their athletic and academic careers on the collegiate level. Dax Creager has signed a National Letter of Intent at High Point University, while Ryan Hezlep will attend the University of Indianapolis and A.J. Teague is headed to Transylvania University.
