ECC’s Loveland Ahead For Boys Bowling
SETTING THE SCENE: Just one week into the season the Eagles are atop the Eastern Cincinnati Conference standings, tied with Loveland and West Clermont. Milford’s boys bowling team will be tested in the week ahead as they face Loveland, when one team will have the opportunity to pull ahead in the conference standings. The Eagles will also head to the Holiday Classic at Western Bowl.

A LOOK BACK: The Eagles defeated ECC rival Anderson for the first conference win of the year on Mon., 11/27. Nathan Hawkins averaged 249 and Josh Cooper a 232 as Milford won 2803-2329. Rodney Gorley defined consistency, with a 193 in both games, and Nathan McGeorge added a 360 series. Jacob Donovan (163) and Nick Murphy each added a game to the team’s first conference victory.
Gorley posted a 500 series on Tues., 11/28 as the Eagles defeated Anderson, 2875-2412. Gorley and his teammates were hot, with four members of the team with at least one game over 200. McGeorge had a 248 in game one and a series of 473, while series from Cooper (435) and Hawkins (401), and Donovan and Murphy each with a game to keep the Eagles perfect in the ECC.
The Milford boys bowling team ended the week with a 12th place finish at the Big Blue Challenge hosted by Hamilton High School. McGeorge led the Eagles on this day, with a 219.7 average and three game series of 659. Cooper (555) and Murphy (554) each played three games, while two Eagles added one game in the tournament; Kyle Fanning a 153, and Gorley a 147.
A LOOK AHEAD: Loveland awaits Milford in the week ahead, as the Eagles look to remain undefeated in the ECC. Loveland is also undefeated in the conference, after opening the season with two wins over Turpin. The Eagles will compete at another weekend tournament, this time the Holiday Classic at Western Bowl.

INSIDE THE ECC: At 2-0, Milford sits atop the ECC tied with West Clermont and Loveland. Walnut Hills, Anderson and Turpin are all 0-2, while Kings has not yet faced a conference opponent. The Eagles lead the league in team average (944.1) followed by Kings (914.0).
The Eagles are dominating as the ECC individual leaders, taking the top four spots in high series and within the top ten in all categories:
Josh Cooper: overall average (3rd – 200.6); high game (6th – 238); series high (4th – 464)
Rodney Gorley: overall average (t-5th – 197.3); high game (2nd – 256); series high (1st – 500)
Nathan Hawkins: overall average (7th – 196.3); high game (1st – 263); series high (2nd – 498)
Nathan McGeorge: overall average (1st – 213.3); high game (3rd - 249); series high (3rd – 473)
POLL WATCH: Milford entered the top ten last week and holds on in week three, ranked ninth in the Cincinnati Enquirer area coaches’ poll. Mason, Oak Hills and Elder make up the top three, while LaSalle and St. Xavier are tied for fourth. The ECC’s West Clermont fell out of the top ten but received twelve votes; Anderson (6), Kings (5), and Loveland (1) received votes in week three. Find the Coaches Poll HERE.
