Week 9 Game Summary

Milford was able to overcome two early turnovers, a 21-6 deficit and an injury to starting QB Austin Hardin as the Eagles scored a 34-28 win over Lebanon. Down 15 near the seven-minute mark of the second, the Eagles ripped off 28 straight points to take a lead it wouldn’t relinquish. The Warriors were driving for the tying score in the final minutes, but Cam Zoromski’s ECC-best sixth sack of the season ended the comeback.

With Hardin sidelined, the Eagles turned to their ground game, finishing with 176 yards rushing, the most since Week 2. Sophomore Sawyer Copp enjoyed a breakout performance, rushing for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Vince Ringland replaced Hardin under center and despite completing just four passes was able to lead the Eagles to the win with a rushing touchdown, 77 yards on the ground and TD passes to Chase Duesing and Payton Bauer. Jacob Smith led the defense with an astonishing 16 tackles, while Tahj Price and Nike Scally each nabbed interceptions.

The Eagles will close 2020 next Friday night, traveling to take on rival West Clermont.
