Football Takes To The Road For Opener at Edgewood

SETTING THE SCENE: The seventh season under head coach Tom Grippa opens for the Milford Eagles as they hit the road for the first of three away games during Week 1 at Edgewood. This marks the third straight season the Eagles and Cougars have kicked off the season against one another, with Milford winning the two previous contests by a combined score of 83-20. The Eagles are coming off a 9-3 campaign and a fourth straight playoff appearance. They’ll be led by an experienced defensive core that returns nine starters, along with six returnees dotting the offensive starting line-up.

Notable 2022 Performances by 2023 Returnees
• Returning 2022 All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference selections: Reece Davis (2nd), Andrew Littrell (2nd), Tota Luani (2nd)
• WR Reece Davis lit up the stat sheet in the Edgewood opener, capturing his second career 100-yard receiving night with 114 for the game, along with a pair of touchdowns. His other 100-yard game came in last year’s opener at Edgewood.
• LB Andrew Littrell finished the Loveland game with nine tackles (eight solo), including 2.5 for loss and put a jarring hit on a Tiger ball carrier to force a fumble.
• WR Reese Davis was electric against Little Miami, hauling in nine catches for a career-high 144 yards and three touchdowns.
• LB Andrew Littrell was a beast on defense against Walnut Hills, recording a 77-yard interception return, a fumble recovery for a touchdown and a sack.
• Magnus Boben and Will Reid led a defensive charge against West Clermont in each player's most extensive action of the season. Along the defensive line, Magnus ended the game with a team-high 10 tackles, including half a sack. Filling in as a starter at safety, Will totaled seven tackles, including 1.5 for loss, along with his first career interception.
• Key returnees Tofa Luani and Jacob Luecke and newcomers Nathan Webster all earned honorable mention Preseason All-Tristate Football. Luecke was also the top vote getter among all punters as voted on by fans.
