Herrell, Hilliard Earn All-City Baseball Honors

Milford’s two most accomplished baseball players during the 2023 season have once again been honored for their play, this time by the Southwest Ohio Baseball Coaches Association. Senior Chase Herrell was tabbed first team All-City, while junior teammate and fellow pitcher Louden Hilliard was honored as second team.

A look at the awards list and season highlights:

Senior Chase Herrell
• 1st Team All-City
• 1st Team All-ECC
• Three-time first team All-ECC selection
• Signed National Letter of Intent to continue career at The Ohio State University
• Set school records for most career strikeouts (165) and most strikeouts in a season (69)
• Ranked second in the ECC in strikeouts and tied for fifth with four wins. Posted a sparkling 0.97 ERA over 50.2 innings
• Also hit .346 at the plate with team-highs of eight doubles and two home runs, along with 16 RBI

Junior Louden Hilliard
• 2nd Team All-City
• 1st Team All-ECC
• Earned all-conference honors for second straight year after being named second team as a sophomore
• Tallied the sixth-most strikeouts in the league with 47
• Held a record of 2-2 with a 2.80 ERA
• Combined with Ayden Vollmer for a no-hitter against Walnut Hills
• At the plate, contributed five doubles, a triple, one home run, 11 RBI and nine stolen bases
