Milford Bowling Welcomes New Assistant Coaches

Posted on: November 21, 2021

Milford head bowling coach Mike Nolting is pleased to welcome two new members to the Eagle coaching staff for the 2021-22 season. Rachael Johnson enters her first full season with the Eagles, while Scott Thomas will also help coach this season.

Rachael has been bowling for over 15 years in the Cincinnati area. She bowled for and graduated from former rival Glen Este High School where she made a couple of all-tournament teams during her career.

“I'm so excited to be coming in this year to help both our Girls and Boys Junior Varsity teams as well as working with both our Varsity squads,” she says. “The program has definitely grown in the last year and I can't wait to tap into the talent we have been witnessing in the open sessions this summer! I expect both our girls and boys team to shine this year as we continue to grow each skillset on the team!”

Scott brings over two decades of bowling experience to the squad this year. During his career, Scott has totaled 14 perfect games and recorded three series of 800+. He’s bowled in multiple tournaments, including a doubles victory at the Billiters Tournament in Fairfield.

“I am overjoyed that Mike and Rachael asked me to coach,” Scott says. “I want to give back to the sport I love. They say it’s a dying sport but I disagree. It starts with our youth and we have great kids here at Milford. I’m honored to be able to teach what I’ve learned in my 25+ years of bowling. I want to help teach and pass along the passion of the great sport of bowling to our kids.”

The Milford Bowling season gets underway on November 30 against Winton Woods.
