Milford High School To Dedicate Basketball Court In Honor Of Coach Ted Dixon

Posted on: November 28, 2023

This winter will see a deserving honor bestowed upon a legendary coach as Milford High School will dedicate its basketball playing court to Hall of Fame coach Ted Dixon. Save the date and plan to join us for the dedication of Coach Ted Dixon Court which will take place between the Eagles’ junior varsity and varsity contests (approximately 7pm) against Little Miami on Friday, December 8. A celebration/reception in the MHS cafeteria from 8pm-10pm with some light food & beverages. ALL are welcome and no RSVP or fee to attend!

Coach Dixon left a lasting legacy at Milford where he was the head coach from 1980-1996. During his tenure, Milford won 251 games, five conference championships, five district titles, the 1993 regional championship and an Ohio State Final Four appearance. All told, Coach Dixon held a 70% winning percentage and coached 10 Milford Hall of Famers. He was inducted into Milford’s Hall of Fame in 2006.

"Coach Dixon is synonymous with Milford and the strong history of our women's basketball program,” stated Milford Director of Athletics Aaron Zupka. “In addition to his success and longevity as a coach, Coach Dixon had a much more profound impact off the court. In his own words, he always taught 99 lessons and only one of them had to do with basketball. It was very apparent when we had the 1993 State Final Four Team Reunion (in December 2022) of the impact he has had on the lives of his players, even 30 plus years later. I couldn't think of a more deserving person to have his name and legacy imprinted forever in the hardwood at Milford High School than Coach Ted Dixon."
