Swimming Teams Host Kings Saturday

THE UPCOMING DOCKET: A look at Milford’s upcoming schedule:

  • Saturday, Dec. 8 vs. Kings, Milford HS, 10:00 a.m.

 

THE BOYS REPORT: The boys team, on the strength of seven individual and two relay victories rolled past Eastern Cincinnati Conference foe West Clermont by a 62-15 score in the season-opener on November 28. Senior Nathan Klick and sophomore Porter Bausch got their seasons off on a high note as each won two individual events and contributed to a relay win.

 

A look at Milford’s winners against West Clermont:

  • 200 medley relay: Seth Bennett, Matthew Marks, Porter Bausch, Michael Weinstein 1:57.65
  • 200 free: Nathan Klick 2:05.91
  • 100 IM: Porter Bausch 1:04.69
  • 50 free: Mitchell Hansbauer 24.39
  • 100 fly: Porter Bausch 1:06.02
  • 100 free: Will Pond 56.83
  • 200 free rely: Will Pond, Mitchell Hansbauer, Nathan Klick, Seth Bennett 1:42.24
  • 100 back: Owen Ferrara 1:05.76
  • 100 breast: Nathan Klick 1:13.27

 

THE GIRLS REPORT: The girls squad also came out on top, clipping West Clermont by a slim 39-38 margin. Senior Ellen Victory was the big winner of the night for the Eagles as she took the top spot in the 100 IM and 100 breastroke races, while also swimming the anchor leg of the winning 200 medley relay squad.

 

A look at Milford’s winners against West Clermont:

  • 200 medley relay: Madelyn Payne, Megan Krieger, Samantha Chumley, Ellen Victory 2:11.01
  • 100 IM: Ellen Victory 1:16.09
  • 100 back: Megan Krieger 1:11.40
  • 100 breast: Ellen Victory 1:28.79

 

POLL WATCH: The boys squad didn’t receive any votes in the weekly Cincinnati Enquirer Division I area coaches’ poll. First place Sycamore and Princeton and St. Xavier in a tie for sixth received the three first place votes cast. The balance of the top-five features Mason, Lakota East, Elder and LaSalle. The ECC is represented by Anderson in eighth, Turpin in a tie for 10th and Loveland and Kings among others receiving votes.

 

The girls team also didn’t receive any votes in this week’s rankings. The one ballot cast shows Mason in first followed by Ursuline, Turpin, St. Ursula and Oak Hills. The ECC is also represented by Anderson in eighth, Kings in eighth and Loveland in ninth.
