SWOC/ECC Challenge, New Richmond Await Girls Bowling

THE UPCOMING DOCKET:  The Eagles will open the new year hosting New Richmond, as well as a trip to the annual Southwest Ohio Conference/Eastern Cincinnati Conference Challenge where Milford will see Northwest yet again.  The Eagles finished the tournament second of fourteen teams in 2018, behind the girls team from Northwest.

Saturday, Jan. 5:        Milford @ SWOC/ECC Challenge, Northwest Lanes, 9:00 am



December 17 at St. Ursula: Milford 1936, St. Ursula 1843

Jessica Norman was the top Eagle in the win over St. Ursula, with a high game of 201 and 385 series.  Reaghan Kaylor followed with a 334 series, while Reagan Hodges (260), Fallon Austin (251), and Sam Miller (200) each added three games to the victory.


December 18 at Northwest: Northwest 2745, Milford 2078

Milford fell to Northwest, currently ranked No. 2 in the latest area coaches’ poll.  Kaylor and Norman both posted two-game series of 306, followed by Hodges (281), Miller (275) and Austin (267).


INSIDE THE NUMBERS: With no ECC competitions over the past week, Loveland and West Clermont remain at the top of the standings at 6-0 in the ECC. Turpin is 2-2, Walnut Hills 2-4; Milford and Kings follow at 1-3 and Anderson is 0-6.

Milford held at fourth in team average at 697.1. West Clermont fell a bit to 779.2, followed by Turpin (700.8) and Loveland (698.0).

A look at Milford’s individual statistical leaders as of Dec. 30:

Average: Norman (5th – 157.2); Kaylor (6th – 156.3)

High Game: Norman (4th – 214); Kaylor (8th – 202)

Series High: Norman (6th – 385); Kaylor (8th – 368)


ICYMI: Jessica Norman was nominated for the Cincinnati Enquirer Female Bowling Athlete of the Week for Dec. 23.  Against St. Ursula and Northwest, the senior led the Lady Eagles with a 691 series for the week.  


POLL WATCH: Milford’s girls bowling team is on the move and is ranked sixth in the area coaches’ poll for week six released Dec. 24.  Mercy McAuley remained in first, followed by Northwest who last week was third. Fairfield, Seton and Oak Hills now occupy third through fifth. The ECC’s West Clermont, previously sixth but replaced this week by the Eagles, fell to eighth. Kings (1) and Turpin (1) are the only other ECC programs to receive votes; find the poll for week six at
