Three More Milford High School Student-Athletes Announce College Plans

Posted on: June 8, 2023

The Milford High School Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that three additional members of its Class of 2023 will continue their athletic careers on the collegiate level. The student-athletes that have committed to continuing their academic and athletic futures are: Owen DeHanes (Football-Wittenberg University), Caleb Lambdin (Baseball-Edison State Community College) and Ayden Vollmer (Baseball-Edison State Community College).

DeHanes was a member of the offensive line his senior year that helped Milford rank among the top-three in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference in scoring, total offense and passing offense.

At Wittenberg, an NCAA Division III program in Springfield, OH, DeHanes will play for head coach Jim Collins and continue to be a teammate of offensive line mate Scott Arnold. Owen is the son of Bridget DeHanes and Jonathon Baltrusch.

Lambdin appeared in nine games on the mound for Milford this spring, including a pair of starts. In 19 innings of work, he posted a 2-1 record and a 4.42 ERA with 22 strikeouts.

Vollmer was an ace out of the Eagle bullpen, appearing in a team-high 11 games, all in relief. He picked up two saves, held a 2.75 ERA and struck out 29 in 20.1 innings. Opponents hit just .164 against him this year. Vollmer combined with Louden Hilliard to toss a no-hitter against Walnut Hills. He was lauded as second team All-Eastern Cincinnati choice for his efforts.

At Edison State, an NJCAA Division 2 program in Piqua, OH, Lambdin and Vollmer will play for head coach Tyler Koch. Caleb is the son of Jeff and Jennifer Lambdin and Ayden is the son of Greg and Heather Vollmer.

These commitments brings the total to 33 Class of 2023 members who announced college commitments earlier this school year.
