Week Of September 18 ECC Athletes Of The Week

Each week throughout the school year, we’ll feature the student athletes nominated by their coaches as Eastern Cincinnati Conference Athletes of the Week. Congratulations to each award recipient!

Caitlin Evans
Senior, Milford Soccer
Caitlin has played a significant role in our defensive shutdown of opposing offenses. She was tasked with marking the leading goal-scorer in the city this week and successfully executed the game plan.

Kelsey McKenney
Senior, Milford Volleyball
Kelsey, a senior middle hitter, led the team in four matches this past week with 32 kills and 13 blocks. Kelsey is a great energy and effort leader on and off the court!

Lily McManis
Senior, Milford Golf
Lily has managed a 44.6 average, earning the team medalist spot three times within the past two weeks. She shot her career low (4-over par) this past Wednesday against Walnut Hills. Lily has been a contributing factor in every Milford match this season and leads the team with a 47 average for the season.

Two under the radar seniors and Milford's rapidly improving junior quarterback played starring roles in helping the Eagles improve to 5-0 with a win over Kings. Pressed into service as the main running back, Ashton Warther finished with 172 all-purpose yards, made up of 86 rushing, 61 receiving, and 25 in kick return yards. He also scored his first TD of the season. Wide Receiver J.P. Naylor was QB Luke Brand’s favorite target on the night, catching eight passes for 133 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Luke was phenomenal under center once again for the Eagles, completing 22-of-28 passes for 356 yards and two touchdowns.

Annabelle Wagner
Senior, Milford Cross Country
Annabelle had a breakout race on Saturday at the Troy Twilight Invitational, running a new career best and helping the team to a third-place finish.
