Weeks Of December 25-January 8 ECC Athletes Of The Week

Each week throughout the school year, we’ll feature the student athletes nominated by their coaches as Eastern Cincinnati Conference Athletes of the Week. Congratulations to each award recipient!

Week of December 25
Gabby Chadwell and Violet Shuluga
Milford Basketball
Gabby, a freshman guard, had a career-high 16 points vs. Kings and then turned around and topped that a few days later with a new high of 23 against Harrison in helping the team to its seventh straight win. Violet, a junior forward, tallied 21 points and set a school record with 12 steals vs. Anderson and then poured in 16 points in the second half vs. Harrison to help the team improve to 9-2 on the season.

Jake Nerl
Sophomore, Milford Swimming
Jake was part of FOUR winning relays in a special relay-only holiday meet against Anderson and West Clermont. His first wins came swimming lead off in a 500 freestyle relay and a 3x100 backstroke relay. Jake swam the second leg of the winning 200 backstroke relay and was back in the first leg spot as the Eagles captured the 200 free relay.

Abby Roeper
Freshman, Milford Swimming
Abby landed in the top-three of three different relays in Milford's Holiday Relay Meet vs. Anderson and West Clermont. The highlight was swimming the second leg of the winning 3x100 backstroke relay. Abby also swam anchor of the runner-up 500 free relay and the opening leg of a special mixed 400 freestyle relay that took third.

Week of January 8
Gray Hardoerfer
Freshman, Milford Swimming
Gray posted season-best times in both of his individual events during an event at Turpin: 50 freestyle (28.57) and 100 freestyle (1:04.73). He also swam legs of the 200 freestyle and 200 medley relays.

Abby Roeper
Freshman, Milford Swimming
Abby showed real grit fighting through an injury to earn four top-three finishes at Turpin. She took second in the 200 freestyle (2:21.00) and third in the 100 butterfly (1:16.61), while helping the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays squads to third-place finishes.
