Weeks Of September 4 ECC Athletes Of The Week

Posted on: September 6, 2023

Each week throughout the school year, we’ll feature the student athletes nominated by their coaches as Eastern Cincinnati Conference Athletes of the Week. Congratulations to each award recipient!

Charlie Gerhringer and AJ Scalon
Milford Soccer
Freshman Charlie Gerhringer scored his second goal of the season off of a cross from AJ Scanlon, also a freshman. The goal sealed the victory against Kings.

Lauren Johnson and Mahima Vasa
Milford Cross Country
Both Lauren, a freshman, and Mahima, a junior, really stepped up to help the team this week. With one of our top five runners out, Lauren and Mahima were able to fill in the gap and help the team to a third-place finish at the Lebanon Invitational.

Luke Brand and Mason Cooper
Milford Football
Luke, a junior quarterback, had a record-setting performance in the Eagles' big win over rival Loveland. For the night, Luke set a Milford school record with 423 passing yards, connecting on 34-of-46 passes and a pair of touchdowns. He also added a pair of rushing touchdowns. Mason, a senior kicker, connected on all seven of his extra point attempts, as well as his first career field goal, a 31-yard try. He also kicked off a total of eight times with four resulting in touchbacks.

Kristen Burns
Senior, Milford Soccer
Kristen recorded her third shutout against league opponent Kings. She has been a key factor in our success this season, and we expect more big games from her!

Jonathan Campbell
Junior, Milford Golf
Jonathan led the Eagles to three wins last week, including two against ECC foes with a string of outstanding performances. He began the week with a round of 37, followed it up with an under-par 33, and wrapped it up with another 37. He currently ranks fifth in the league with a 38.1 average.
