Milford is well represented on the 2022 All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference squads as this season’s league champs had nine players selected. In addition, veteran head coach Christy Gregory has been voted by her peers as the Coach of the Year for this season.

Six Eagles earned first team distinction, including Avery Fielman and Brooklyn Stewart who were also voted All-District second team and honorable mention, respectively by the Southwest Ohio Coaches. Other first team Eagles include Callie Allison, Madison Fugate, Cheruby Herbert and Taylor Stemmerding. Second team selections are Kaitlyn Bibb and Mollie Bloom, while Kaitlyn Flynn was Milford’s honorable mention choice.

The Eagles enjoyed another fine season, winning its seventh ECC title since the league’s inception in 2013 and finishing 20-4 overall and 17-1 in the league. For Gregory, this marks her sixth career ECC Coach of the Year award and second in a row.

In being named to the All-ECC first team for the first time, Fielman concluded her junior year ranked in the top-five in the league in average (.543), runs (36), home runs (7) and RBI (47). She picked up All-ECC second team honors as a sophomore.

Stewart caps her career as an All-ECC first team pick for the second straight year. Bound for Tennessee Tech University next season, Stewart’s senior season featured 17 extra-base hits, including a league-best eight triples. In batting .488 for the campaign, she tacked on six doubles, hit three home runs and finished with 29 RBI.

Allison made a big splash in her first season as an Eagle, finishing the campaign with a.577 batting average, the second-highest among qualifying players in the league. She recorded 15 doubles, collected 25 RBI and stole six bases.

Fugate had a breakout junior season, finishing inside the top-10 in the league with a .529 average. She used her speed to rank fourth in the conference with 14 stolen bases and was also in the top-10 with 33 runs scored.

Another breakout junior was Herbert who took on the role of No. 1 pitcher with great success. By season’s end, Herbert was the league leader with 16 wins, striking out 62 and posting a 3.54 ERA.

Stemmerding was a threat at the top of the batting order all season, scoring a league-high 44 runs. Her .514 batting average was the 10th-best with the Muskingum University commit picking up 12 doubles, a triple, two home runs, 24 RBI and nine stolen bases. Stemmerding is a three-time all-league performer, including two straight first team accolades.

Fellow Muskingum commit Bibb ably handled second base and at times shortstop during the spring. She wrapped up the year with a .369 average, three doubles, nine RBI and eight stolen bases. Bibb is a two-time All-ECC award winner, after grabbing honorable mention in 2021.

Another two-time all-conference choice is Bloom, who picks up her second straight second team honor. At the plate, Bloom tallied a .421 average with nine doubles, a triple and 23 RBI. For the first team in her high school career, she took on the challenge of pitching, finishing with a 4-0 record and a 2.60 ERA in eight appearances.
