Battling against one of the area’s best teams, Milford saw Walnut Hills lead from start to finish in a 48-23 victory in the first of two Battle of the ECC’s Eagles for the season. Milford was as close as 7-4 early in the contest, but a 12-0 Walnut run through the midpoint of the second period put the home team in firm control.

Milford was dominant against an overmatched Shroder team as the Eagles rolled to a 64-10 victory. The Eagle defense was relentless, causing 35 turnovers that led to 42 points and winning the rebounding battle 41-17. Milford rounded up 24 offensive rebounds, turning those into 14 second chance points, while also swiping 22 steals.

INSIDE THE ECC: Walnut Hills remains undefeated in league play at 6-0 and has a one-game lead over Loveland in the battle for the top spot. Kings and West Clermont, each at 4-2 are also in the hunt. The league will resume conference play on January 5.

 

POLL WATCH: The Eagles did not receive any votes in the weekly Cincinnati Enquirer area Division I coaches’ poll. Mount Notre Dame continues to the No. 1 ranked team, earning 12 of the 16 first place votes. ECC member Walnut Hills is second with three top nods. The rest of top-five includes Princeton (one vote), Lakota West and Mason. The ECC is also represented by Loveland in sixth, with Kings and Anderson among others receiving votes.
