Boys Basketball Postseason Award Winners
Congratulations to the following boys basketball players who have earned postseason awards for their play during the recently completed season. This page will be updated as more awards are announced.
Here’s a look at the recipients awards and their season highlights.
Gavin Dalen
• All-Ohio Honorable Mention
• All-District (media) Honorable Mention
• ECC Defensive Player of the Year
• 1st Team All-ECC
• Led the ECC in rebounds (10.8) and blocks (2.8) per game
• Ranked ninth in the league in scoring at 14.4 points per game and was fifth in field goal percentage (54.8%)
• Recorded double-digit rebounds in 14 of the 22 games in which he played, including 12 double-doubles
• Had the most offensive rebounds of any player in the league (98), 30 more than second place
• Blocked at least three shots in a game 15 times
• Finished his career with 137 blocks, second in school history only to head coach Brandon Baker (152)
Matt O’Donnell
• All-District (media) Honorable Mention
• 1st team All-ECC
• Ranked fifth in the league with 6.8 rebounds per game
• Added 11.3 points per game, including a high of 30 against Kings
• Enjoyed a stretch of four straight double-doubles in early January
Sloan Gormley
• All-District (media) Honorable Mention
• 2nd team All-ECC
• Made 46 three-pointers this season, the eighth-most in the ECC and the second-highest single season total in school history
• Averaged 11.2 points per game, including two games of 20+ points
• Tied for third in the league with 42 steals and was ninth with 59 assists
• Ranked seventh with a 77.1% free throw percentage
Michael Kirk
• Honorable mention All-ECC
• Ranked ninth in the ECC with 43 three-pointers made, which is good for fifth on Milford’s single-season list
• Concluded career with 80 made three-pointers, tied for the fifth highest in school history
• Set a Milford school record with seven made three’s in a win over Lebanon
