Boys Soccer Looks To Remain Unbeaten Thursday At West Clermont

SETTING THE SCENE: The Milford High School boys soccer team will look to stay unbeaten this fall when the Eagles take to the pitch this Thursday at West Clermont. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. The Eagles ran their record to 3-0-2 in their most recent outing, playing Kings to a 1-1 tie last week. Milford is tied for fourth in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference after one round of action, while West Clermont dropped its league opener to Walnut Hills.

A LOOK BACK: Aug. 30 vs. Kings: The Eagles opened Eastern Cincinnati Conference play with a 1-1 tie against Kings. Junior Joey Round scored his team-leading eighth goal of the year for Milford.

POLL WATCH: The Eagles find themselves in a tie for seventh in the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Division I area coaches’ poll, released on Sept. 4. They share the slot with Elder. Moeller is the big favorite in the rankings with 16 of the 19 first place votes tallied. Second through fourth each earned one first place vote with St. Xavier, ECC members Anderson and Turpin holding the positions. Mason completes the top-five, ahead of the ECC’s Loveland in eighth. Walnut Hills and Kings are also receiving votes this week. The coaches’ poll is released every Monday at Noon at preps.cincinnati.com/coachespolls.
