Week Of May 22 ECC Athletes Of The Week
Each week throughout the school year, we’ll feature the student athletes nominated by their coaches as Eastern Cincinnati Conference Athletes of the Week. Congratulations to each award recipient!
Caitlin Evans and Kelsey McKenney
Milford Track
Caitlin, a junior, has proven to be one of our team’s premiere athletes and showed it again on Friday in the Iong jump at the District Meet. Caitlin jumped a distance of 17'4" to finish third in a tightly-contested event where she missed the win by 1.5". Her finish moves her on to the Regional Meet this week where she has a chance to jump herself all the way to Columbus for the State Meet next week. Congratulations Caitlin! Kelsey, also a junior, has slowly been working her way back from an injury this season and is finally hitting her stride. On Friday, she threw her season-best effort in the discus to finish as District runner-up in the event. This moves Kelsey on to the Regional Meet for the second year in a row! She is ready to show everyone what she is truly capable of and give herself the chance to move on to the State Meet. Congratulations Kelsey!
Charlie Vause
Sophomore, Milford Track
Charlie has had a fantastic season for us this year, and on Friday accomplished something not too many athletes do anymore ... he qualified to the Regional Meet in both the 1600 meters and the 3200 meters. Congratulations Charlie, way to #RepTheM ... let's keep it going for another week and get all the way to OSU for the State Finals!
